The overall look of the card is impressive with large print on 8×10 stock. Packaging is excellent for mailing as well.
This card is for my sister’s 75th birthday (1948). I’m two years older (1946), so 75 is in my rear view mirror.
The funniest proofreading error is in the bottom lefthand corner under caption “On Television…” – it reads: **DOODY HOWDY** laugh, I thought I’d die 🙂 As anyone who was born in the 40s, 50s, 60s remembers, the host of the show, Buffalo Bob Smith, opened each show with “Say, kids, what time is it?” to which the kids, ages three to eight – the Peanut Gallery – would shout: “IT’S **HOWDY DOODY** TIME!!”
Howdy Doody. Not ‘Doody Howdy’. LOL.
The second proofreading error is in the top right hand corner under “World Population.” With my magnifying glass, I’m reading the numbers “2.39” but what follows is illegible – can’t read it. I’m assuming it’s supposed to say “2.39 billion people”??
The most egregious error, “Doody Howdy,” definitely needs to be corrected. The World Population wording needs to be corrected, also, but is of lesser importance overall.
I know my sister will be pleased with this special card for a very special birthday.
(BTW – My occupation before I retired was as a Medical Transcriptionist which requires, among other things, excellent proofreading skills.)
