Glowing Spring

Many people associate glowing tones—orange, for example—with autumn, but I like to turn things around. Orange and red are not typical spring tones, but it seems they have become more “accepted” in the last few years. I can tell from comments on

pictures I post on social media. Until a few years ago, I often showed orange spring flowers, and several people wrote that they thought the color belonged in autumn. Since then, that has changed.

Now orange is at the forefront of garden fashion.

Planting

Place the plants in the pot and fill with soil, leaving about 2 inches (5 cm) to the rim. This makes watering easier. Water one last time.

Now the plants need some time to settle in, so it’s a good idea to put them in partial shade for the first week. After that, they can be moved to full sun, provided they are sun-loving plants.
